the original miniKORG 700 was the first Japanese synthesizer designed by Fumio Mieda from KORG and built in Japan in 1973, followed by the miniKORG 700S in 1974
was used by The Cure, ComaTeens, Kitaro, Human League, N-Trance, the Normal, Stevie Wonder, The Cars and Paul Hardcastle
it was also the favorite synth of Vangelis. Before the Yamaha CS-80 was released in 1978, Vangelis mainly used a miniKORG 700S for all his experimental synthesizer sounds on his first 4 albums 'Heaven And Hell' (1975), Albedo 0.39' (1976), 'Spiral' (1977) and 'Beauborg ' (1978). This was mainly due to the fact that the 700S has 3 different ring modulators that allow you to make those typical metallic sounds that those first 4 albums are so famous for. BTW it is said that all synthesizer sounds in the famous song 'Pulstar' were made with a miniKORG 700S...
limited edition: serial number 741 of a 1000 piece production run of the legendary KORG MS-20 as a DIY kit
monophonic semi-modular analog performance synthesizer reissued in 2014 but incorporates all of the sound resources and functions of the original KORG MS-20 from 1978 at the original size

2 x VCAs: ADSR + Sample and Hold with an envelope follower
LFO with multiple waveforms
external signal processor (ESP) for an external signal
flexible patching system with full sized 1/4" phone plugs
new features:
jumper selectable VCF type: choose between the original KORG's proprietary 'KORG 35' thick film IC that was used in the original model (KORG MS-20 MkI) or the off-the-shelf 'LM13600' IC that was used in the later models (KORG MS-20 MkII). The tonal difference between the two is that the original 'KORG 35' filter has a slight amount of hiss which overdrives into the sound at high resonant settings. This causes the filter to have more of a "screaming" effect similar to it being used with a distortion pedal. This is why the KORG-MS MkI has achieved legendary status. The revised filter 'LM13600' has most of this noise cleared up and is less aggressive sounding. I custom mounted a toggle switch on the front panel for easy switching between the 2 VCF types
MIDI IN connector
USB connector (transmits and receives note messages only)
keyboard: 37 keys
this was the first synthesizer I ever owned but I regrettably sold it. This reissue gave me the opportunity to buy a brand new one without having to buy an unreliable and very old used MS-20. Therefore the sound of this MS-20 kit has a somewhat bright and extreme quality to it because its sound is that of an original MS-20 in mint condition at the time it went on sale, before any of the components aged

designed by Dave Smith, design engineer, and the driving force behind SEQUENTIAL CIRCUITS. Dave's first synthesizer was the legendary prophet-5 in 1978 — the first microprocessor-controlled polyphonic synthesizer capable of storing the value of every parameter within its voicing and control systems. This was a watershed technological breakthrough, and the implications were staggering. Think about this: before the prophet-5 , it simply wasn't possible to enter a patch number into a synth and recall a sound you had stored.
The prophet-5 and its successors were hugely successful, finding their way into every top studio and major act's keyboard rig and onto countless recordings by artists. Dave also had a hand in inventing a little thing called MIDI. Taking full advantage of the latest cutting-edge digital/analog technologies, PROPHET X is the most recent chapter in one of the great American synth success stories
